As in the whole world, the current changes in the popularity of professions are evident in our country. There are a number of professions that have become more widespread in recent years, and others - on the contrary. Sahib Mammadov, the head of the League for the Protection of Labor Rights, told Milli.Az that ICT is leading the list of fashionable professions:

"This is a relatively large and demanding workplace. The demand for professional workers in the banking, finance and insurance sectors is increasing, wages in such workplaces are relatively high and sometimes a minimal social package is provided. Individual areas of engineering also continue to gain popularity. These are mainly fields related to petroleum engineering, equipment, and electric power."

According to S. Mammadov, most of the out-of-fashion or unnecessary professions belong to publishing and printing works. It was also emphasized that many of the professions needed 20 years ago are no longer needed and the development of technology continues to kill professions in this sphere. As for the professions of doctors and teachers, which were once more fashionable in our country, the lawyer says that the profession of a doctor has not lost its respect, on the contrary, it is considered a profitable place of work. Although teaching is not as respected as it used to be, it is not a profession that has lost its prestige.

What profession do people prefer?

Sociologist Ahmed Abbasbeyli says that various tInaccurate opinions and monitoring in this field are disclosed by the authorities. Due to the lack of necessary research, it is impossible to draw accurate conclusions, and even though there are professional sociologists in the country, they are not specifically commissioned on this topic. Some people can take a professional approach to this issue and come up with any position in comparison with other studies.

According to a sociologist, popular professions in the world are two in the direction - it is divided into high-earning and in-demand professions:

"Naturally, people prefer professions that are less stressful, comfortable, safe and can earn more money. In recent times, the development of technology also shows its influence in this field. Among the popular professions, programming takes the main place. A law has also been adopted in the country that each structure must create its own website, and enough programmers will be needed for electronic service to the population. "Today, a number of state structures, including the majority of municipalities, do not have websites."

A. Abbasbeyli stated that one of the popular and profitable professions in all parts of the world is the profession of a lawyer. According to him, in addition to the fact that this profession is popular in Azerbaijan, there are problems with providing them with work: "in general, public officials are not considered a very popular profession in world practice. In the West, people prefer to engage in freer, more profitable jobs. But in our country, on the contrary, people prefer to work in the civil service, and this will continue in the future."

The sociologist says that another popular profession is a foreign language specialist, and the need for it will increase: "For example, even when advertising for the job of a waiter today, knowledge of a foreign language is required. Considering that the European Olympic Games will be held in Azerbaijan in the future, the demand may increase."

We have the unequivocally popular field show- is a business

A sociologist says that gradually the demand for doctors may increase. Today, taking into account the development of private, well-known clinics, the development of healthcare technology, and the high salary of employees in modern clinics, there is no doubt that there is enough interest in this field. Also, if we take into account the application of family doctors, it can be further developed. According to A. Abbasbeyli, there are professions that are popular in the world, but not so in Azerbaijan: "For example, one of the most common professions in the United States is an insurance agent, which is not popular in our country, but it may become popular in the future. In addition, there is a profession called PR manager, which is in high demand. It is not so popular in our country yet, but it should have a perspective in the future."

According to the sociologist, the construction boom in Azerbaijan should have led to an increase in the professional direction of the workers here: "But our research shows that not all of the workers in construction companies are specialists. However, the work in this direction leads to an increase in the interest of young people in construction and architecture. Of course, as an oil country, the number of people interested in this field will be sufficient in 2013 due to the high wages of those working in this field. In addition, there may be interest in culinary related professions. The large number of wedding houses in the country, the presence of culinary programs on TV channels has increased the interest of certain people in this art.

The sociologist also stated that show business is an unequivocally popular field today, and it will probably continue next year, one out of five young people may enter this field: "But I believe that interest in this field will decrease in the near future, because the population is fed up." Regarding the journalistic profession, it was emphasized that journalism was too popular in the 90s. Today, the development of Internet resources, stability in this field shows that there can be at least more interest in this profession than today. It was noted that due to the increase in attention and interest in sports in the country, this field will experience popularity.
